About Elizbeth criger's Fine Art
I am a self-taught painter who has been living, eating and breathing
my art in Tucson for the last 16 years. Although primarily an abstract painter, I have recently been exploring figurative work using a reverse-photographic process. I work in both acrylic and mixed media.
I like to explore different processes. To experiment and play. It is the experiment and play the keeps me coming back to the studio day after day and week after week,, decade after decade, My studio is my solace and my therapy. Though my explorations I find myself and my relationship to the self and the world.
I have seriously been pursuing my art since 1983. Although I have not sought representation by galleries, I am a professional and serious artist. I sell mainly through my studio and love that I meet and sometimes really get to know those who buy my work. I have often had the opportunity to see my work in it's final "resting" place in someone's home or office and it is a wonderful experience. Also, since I market through my studio I can keep my prices very reasonable. Which I really like. Even though I am a painter, I am also a collector. I do not know how one could create art and not collect it.
I spend most of my time in the studio creating, discussing art and process, drinking (after all we are artists) and generally enjoying the process of creation and camaraderie, with the 10 other fine artists I share the warehouse with. See the links at the right to view my studio mates web sites.
